Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I practice with my dog in between sessions?
A: Absolutely - and it's the single biggest factor in your dog's success. Training sessions teach the skills; daily practice is what makes them stick.
Q: Can my kids be involved in the training?
A: Yes! Anyone who is involved in the dog’s life is welcome and encouraged to join sessions. It is important that everyone is on the same page. Sometimes we find that it can be challenging for children under the age of 8 to be hands-on, but they can always be involved and watch.
Q: Do I have to use certain tools on my dog?
A: No. You are not required to use any tools you are uncomfortable with on your dog. New tools can seem overwhelming at first, however, it can be very helpful if you are open to learning about different tools and how they can benefit your dog if recommended.
Q: Are results guaranteed?
A: Every dog will make progress, but results have everything to do with you as an owner and applying what is learned in sessions in real life. As long as you are committed and put in the work, you will see results!
Q: What vaccinations are required to train?
A: We require updated proof of the Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines.
Q: How do you calculate the mileage fee for in-home training?
A: Travel is billed at the IRS standard mileage rate (72.5¢ per mile for 2026), based on the round-trip distance to your session location - whether that's your home, a local park, or another meeting spot we agree on. The exact mileage appears as its own line item on your invoice.
